Hey What's up people in this video I'm Going to show you some Advantages and Disadvantages of using custom rom hope you'll like it if i missed any point in t. Feb 9, 2012 at 5:48 AM. It varies heavily ROM to ROM. However, there are a few common things. Advantages: More device control. With the policy system disabled, you can modify almost anything. More homebrew apps, and more powerful ones (things like bazaar). Native homebrew apps and ported WinMo apps.
Advantages of EPROM | disadvantages of EPROM memory
This page covers advantages and disadvantages of EPROM memory. It mentions EPROM advantages or benefits and EPROM disadvantages or drawbacks. It provides links on various topics on EPROM basics.
What is EPROM
Introduction:
EPROM is the short form of Erasable Programmable ROM.It is programmed similar to PROM.EPROMs can be erased as well as re-programmed repeatedly.
It is easy to erase EPROM completely by exposing it to ultraviolet light. This is due to availability of window in the top of the device to allow light toreach the silicon. This brings entire chip to its initial un-programmed state. This is called reset of the EPROM device.Ability to re-program EPROMs make it essential part insoftware development and testing inspite ofhigher cost compare to PROMs.

Benefits or advantages of EPROM
Following are the benefits or advantages of EPROM:
➨It retains memory even without power. Hence no external memory is required.
➨It is re-programmable as mentioned above.
➨It is very cost effective.
Drawbacks or disadvantages of EPROM
Following are the disadvantages of EPROM:
➨Transistors used in EPROM have higher resistance.
➨It has high static power consumption.
➨It requires UV light exposure to erase the program and can not beerased using electrical signal.
➨It is not possible to erase particular byte like EEPROM and entirecontents are erased.
➨EPROM need to removed from its board or test jig in order to erase orre-program the device.
➨UV based EPROM requires sometime to erase as opposed to EEPROM which is instant.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Ram And Rom
Benefits or advantages of EEPROM
Following are the benefits or advantages of EEPROM:
➨The method of erasure is electrical and immediate.
➨It is possible to erase entire contents of EEPROM as well asparticular byte as per selection.
➨It is very easy to program and erase the contents of EEPROM without removingit from board or test jig. The designers incorporate circuitry to program/erase the EEPROM inthe board itself.
➨To change the contents, additional equipments are not required.
➨Electrical interfaces of different types viz. serial bus and parallel busare available.
➨It is possible to re-program EEPROM infinite number of times.
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Rammed Earth
Drawbacks or disadvantages of EEPROM
Following are the disadvantages of EEPROM:
➨EEPROM requires different voltages for erasing, reading and writing the data.
➨EEPROM has limited data retention time period which is approx. 10 years for mostof the devices.
➨External serial EEPROM type requires long time to access.Hence it is advisable to select appropriate EEPROM type based on application of use.
➨EEPROM devices are expensive compare to PROMs and EPROMs.
