Palm OS device was working 1–2 weeks from 2 AA batteries (the feature, we mostly don’t have today in modern devices), and it was good as a book reader. There was no SD-card support in the first Palm models, but 2–8 MBytes of internal memory allowed to store enough books in a zip-compressed format. PalmOS does not have memory protection between applications: a hostile application or PC-based conduit could read information from inside the Keyring for PalmOS database. Keeping records encrypted provides some protection but a trojan palm application may, for example, record all graffiti strokes to steal your password. The Palm devices were PDAs produced from 1996 to 2007 by Palm Computing. Although it was a pioneer in this field, poor management and growing competition from smartphones ultimately brought the Palm line down. It was succeeded by webOS. Almost all Palm OS games have been ported to iOS and Android devices, and since most games for Palm are no longer sold they're ridiculously hard to find. The Palm OS 3.5.3 update can be installed on any Palm-branded device running Palm OS 3.5.0, 3.5.1, or 3.5.2. Installing this update on top of any of the listed operating systems will update the operating system to Palm OS 3.5.3. By installing this update, you will automatically have all the updates included in the 3.5.1 and 3.5.2 updates.
